- Well, upgraded to the 4.0 package, and some of the old problems are still
- around, though many are fixed.
-
- Particularly bothersome, to me anyway, is the Mailer that comes with the
- package. Am trying to figure out some way to use it offline so that it only
- tries to get/send mail when I tell it too. Since my main access to the net is
- through SLIP, it's nice to not have to be connected to work on mail.
-
- Anyone out there with pointers for configuring this sucker to do this? Or
- pointers to where I missed it in the manual?
-
- Thanks,
- Ewan Grantham

- In the interests of security, Xservers do not allow xclients from just
- any host to connect to your host. In particular, Xwin, your Xserver,
- doesn't allow a connection from the host you had telnetted to.
-
- To allow your host to connect to X-Win, go to Options->Xhost in the
- Xwin main window, and add the name of your host to the list of hosts
- that are allowed to connect. (It might be empty, and I have always
- used the fully qualified domain name, e.g. sisters.cs.uoregon.edu,
- which is one of my hosts.)
